Things to Do in Edmonton with Kids

Wondering what to do in Edmonton when you travel to Edmonton with kids? These fun Edmonton attractions have plenty of activities just for kids!

Reynolds-Alberta Museum
Celebrate the spirit of the machine at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum, which has one of Canada's largest and finest collections of cars, airplanes, tractors, and industrial machines! View the historical and educational exhibits at the main gallery and visit the Aviation Hanger, and kids will have a blast in the playhouse where they can make a craft to take home. In the summertime, enjoy a tour of the grounds in a vintage vehicle driven by a chauffeur.

Telus World of Science – Edmonton
Travel through space, explore the deepest parts of the ocean, solve a mystery, and traverse through the jungle in the hands-on, interactive exhibits at this science center. Explorers under the age of eight can explore the Discoveryland Gallery which has creative play areas for hands-on fun, and there are even activities especially for toddlers three and under. Big kids will love the surround sound and digital screen for 3D movies in the IMAX theatre. If the realistic movie experience is too intense for younger kids, head to the Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre; the full dome theatre shows kid-friendly, educational movies. Special science demonstrations and activities on weekends will have kids laughing and learning.

Edmonton Valley Zoo
Children will love that they can see over 350 species of animals in the lush setting of the zoo. In the heat of the summer, kids can cool off with the water features along the river valley pathway or monkey around on the “whale bone” play structure in the award-winning Arctic Shores exhibit. Children will also delight in the daily animal talks that include interactive activities and a look at the interesting abilities and lifestyles of animals in the zoo.

West Edmonton Mall
With nine attractions under one roof, the mall is an all-day, all-in-one destination with plenty of entertainment options for little ones. Play a round of mini golf, swim with sea lions, go on rides at an amusement park, explore a pirate ship, play a 7-D video game, take a spin on the skating rink, or zoom down a giant waterslide. There’s enough variety to suit children of all ages, and your Edmonton Attractions Pass is valid for admission to the Sea Life Caverns and Sea Lions Rock show. Children love exploring the underground aquarium and more than 100 species of fish, sharks, sea turtles, penguins, reptiles, and amphibians, or watching the charismatic sea lions in a fun, energetic show.
